Geography Awareness Week comes round every November, and the easiest way to make it stick is to let children collect the world one country at a time. This kit gives you a printable passport with a page for each inhabited continent, a five-day plan that needs no preparation, and a free page for every country with its flag, capital, how to say hello and fun facts. It works on any classroom screen, with no account and no ads.

Open the country pages

Five days, fifteen minutes a day

  1. Day 1: Seven continents. Hand out the passports. Find the seven continents on a globe or map together, then everyone writes their name on the cover and picks the first continent they would like to visit.
  2. Day 2: Pick a country. Each child or table picks a country on that continent from the country pages. Copy the flag into the first stamp and write the country and its capital.
  3. Day 3: Say hello. Every country page shows a friendly way to say hello there. Go round the room and greet each other in the class's countries, then write the greeting in the stamp.
  4. Day 4: Meet the neighbours. At the bottom of each country page are more countries on the same continent. Each child adds a neighbour as their second stamp and finds both on the map.
  5. Day 5: Show and tell. Everyone shares one fun fact from their passport. Print the passport stamp at the bottom of any country page as a reward to cut out and glue in.
For the youngest explorers: children who are not writing yet can draw the flag and an animal instead of filling in the lines. A grown-up or an older buddy can write the country name for them.

Keep it going after the week

A country a week fills the passport by the end of the school year, and a country a day makes a good warm-up for the first five minutes of class. The ten-minute daily loop works the same way at home.
